Xpressions'16, the annual Business-Cultural festival of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar; kicked off on 11th November 2016 receiving an amazing turnout. The three-day affair consists of a variety of events from business simulation games to cultural competitions which test the skills and business acumen of the students. The first day began with students fiercely competing in various events and ended with some soul stirring and earthy music.

For the first time, Xavier Institute of Management hosted Lagori- a folk and rock fusion band of Coke Studio fame. It is an eclectic group of musicians with varied musical influences, who have come together to dish out foot tapping, soul stirring music. The band derives its quirky name from a game played in India involving a ball and a pile of stones.

The band started off with the very famous track 'Duma Dum Mast Kalandar' and moved on to sensational Coke Studio songs like 'Madari', and ended with their own creations like 'Humba Humba Hadimba', 'Allah Hu' and 'Boom Shankar'. The team comprising of Edward Rasquinha aka Swamiji with his acoustic guitar, Geeth Vaz rocking the Electric guitar, Tejas Shankar providing the vocals, Vinyl Kumar handling the Drums and Shalini Mohan with her Bass; completely enthralled the audience. The energy of the band members was so contagious that it soon left the crowd in frenzy with their hearts thumping to the beats. It was truly a very fitting and melodious start to the three day extravaganza.
